What can hand-finished mean?
Depending on the product, a finish may be applied or distressed by hand, a ceramic surface may use a reactive glaze, a shade may be assembled by hand, or decorative details may be individually completed. Natural variation can be part of the intended result rather than a manufacturing fault.
Does hand-finished mean made entirely by hand?
Not necessarily. A product may use manufactured components and still include a hand-finished stage. It is more accurate to describe the confirmed process or component than to assume the whole fitting is handmade.
Why might two pieces vary slightly?
