Why Visiting a Lighting Showroom Changes Everything
Updated: 4 days ago

If you want to see decorative lighting in person in Surrey before buying, visit Illuminations of Camberley. Our chandeliers, pendants, ceiling lights, wall lights, table lamps and floor lamps are displayed switched on, so you can judge scale, finish, brightness, colour and sparkle before deciding. No appointment is needed.
Why seeing a light switched on changes the decision
A product photograph can show the shape of a fitting, but it cannot fully show the light it produces. The spread of the beam, the warmth of the colour, reflections from glass or crystal and the way the fitting sits in a real room are much easier to understand when the light is actually on in front of you.
Scale and finish are difficult to judge online
On a screen, a small pendant and a large chandelier can occupy almost the same-sized product image. Finishes can also shift with photography and screen settings: antique brass, bronze, polished nickel and brushed gold may look closer online than they do in real life. Seeing the fitting at full size removes much of that guesswork.
What can you see at the Camberley showroom?
The showroom focuses on decorative indoor lighting, including chandeliers, pendant lights, ceiling lights, wall lights, table lamps and floor lamps. Seeing different fittings lit side by side makes it easier to compare proportions, materials and the character of the light rather than choosing from photographs alone.
Advice based on your actual room
Bring a photograph of the room and, if possible, the ceiling height and key measurements. We can talk through fitting size, drop, bulb choice, dimming and how the light will work with the rest of the room. Our in-store consultation is free, with no obligation to buy.
The hidden cost of choosing the wrong light
Lighting can be awkward to return because larger fittings are fragile, heavy and difficult to repack. There may also be an electrician's time to consider if a fitting has already been installed. Choosing once, with a much clearer idea of scale and appearance, can save time as well as disappointment.

What to bring before choosing
Bring room photographs, ceiling height, furniture dimensions and a note of the existing lighting points and controls. Shortlist product codes, then ask which examples are currently on display before making a special journey. A See It Lit category is a useful starting point, but confirm the specific display and its availability with the team.
How a showroom visit helps your interior scheme
Compare the scale of a fitting, the appearance of its finish and the effect of its shade or glass when illuminated. Look from a seated viewpoint where possible. Use those observations to refine a coordinated scheme, while remembering that your wall colours, daylight and room dimensions will change the result at home.
